Loveunihatexams Yes the JW are some of the nicest people you can meet.
Tell them that you frequent this site daily and plan to continue to do so.....then you'll see how nice they are.
i bet most witnesses could not explain their blood policy, their understanding of the slave, and even simple biblical doctrines....they are an embarrassment to any old timer..

Pete the good news is spread door to door just like Jesus did. Not everyone has a TV/internet. Maybe they don't wouldn't know about the website, if you show up to the door some would have been hearing of it for the first time and at least have an opportunity to learn the truth.
Jesus and the apostles preached from door to door because that's the only way they could do it. If the message is so urgent an the end is so near, why not use the technology available today? You use Jesus as a methods as the ultimate example of how the preaching work is to be done yet Jesus and his apostles didn't use cars to go from door to door or a printing press to print the message nor did he utilize a website yet JW's those means so why not spread the news via every means possible such as on television and radio? That way those who are called on at their doors may have questions or they may have had their interest piqued or at least have a clearer idea of what JW's are about rather than rejecting them because of what they've heard from others. The problem with that is, from what I can tell, as the original poster said, JW's today aren't equipped to really explain their own beliefs effectively.
Again, JW's often use the example of a "sinking ship" when they refer to this system of things. If you were on a sinking ship, you'd use a loudspeaker to warn the all of the passengers at once...you wouldn't print up a flyer and knock on each cabin door hoping to find someone there who'd listen to you.
As far as I can tell, spreading the message urgently isn't really their primary objective and thankfully you as well as thousands of others are daring to visit forums like this as you begin to see what's really going on and are struggling to come to terms with the enormity of it all.

We still love teaching the truth to whoever will listen. It's been taught in 240 land. So only about 20 more to go. We know though whenever someone doesn't want to hear it, it's not us they are turning down.
In terms of getting the word spread, what would you say has been the hold up all these decades? Television and radio have been available in many parts of the world since the 1950s and with Satellite dishes, even the most remote places have television. Even the Internet has been around for nearly 2 decades.
There's are Starbucks Coffees and McDonalds Hamburger places in even the most remote parts of the world. I have a former JW friend who is an interior space designer for one of these companies and this person travels to the most remotest part of the world to establish their stores and never sees JW's.
Even as far back as the 1980's adn 90's Michael Jackson would release a video and within a day the whole world knew about it yet JW's have been trudging around for a hundred years and most of my highly educated coworkers for example, who live in a high tech west coast US. city, don't know the first thing about JW's. Billions of people have died waiting for JW's to get the message out so that the new system can come about.
It's not that hard to do. Instead of spending millions on building an new luxury compound for themselves in New York, why not spend a fraction of that money on television and radio spots and so that when they arrive at the door, people know what they're talking about? What do you think the problem is? If this was a business, they'd have been bankrupt long ago. The only reason this has survived is because they managed to fleece generation after generation, by selling them a dream and a hoax. Spreading the word efficiently and in an urgent manner has nothing to do with their real mission.
at a 3-day convention in nairobi, kenya this week 12-2-16 through 12-4-16, they had 70,000+ attendance, and there were 792 baptized (i presume the baptism was yesterday).
i was amazed to hear this; i guess now we know where the wt's growth is coming from..
Wait till they actually have to shun a family member or they do something shunworthy themselves....then it's game-on as far as how much they really understand what this western religion is all about .
my wife and i went to see it today at the encouragement of some of our new friends.
we laughed until we cried, and it was so cathartic to sit in a room full of hundreds of people laughing at the ridiculousness of religion.
sure, the subject is mormonism, but it was very poignant and applicable to all religion.
We saw it in Seattle at the Paramount. It was very entertaining from beginning to end.
There were young gay guys (I'm guessing) in the audience dressed as Mormon Elders and they knew all of the songs. They stood around in groups in the lobby before curtain and during intermission and re-enacted scenes from the play.
There were Mormons sitting behind us during the play and I could hear them commenting. During one segment I heard one of them say to the other "Well...they got that right...that's for sure".
It was interesting to note that on the program, the Mormon Church had an advertisement for their church and their literature.
i registered in the board and i wanted to present myself.. i used to visit this forum some time ago and even register an account but then i tried to convince myself all was ok in the congregation.
now, i'm coming back :).
i live in a southern european nation, i'm a young jw, a good example in the congregation serving as a regular pioneer and ms. for all in the congregation i'm the good guy, one of the best examples in the area i live.
2. Pressure from family, friends, brothers... They all expect me to continue doing things the same way I've been doing all these years.
You are young....in a number of years, you'll realize that people are not thinking about you and what you are doing, as much as you may think they are. They are more concerned about themselves. I don't mean that in a bad way, I just mean that people naturally think about their own responsibilities and what's going on in their own lives first and are somewhat interested in what you are doing.
Most of their interest in you has to do with how what you do, affects them. They want you to stay the same as you are, so that they don't have to question what they are doing. Humans are creatures of habit. They often don't want to spend any of their energy on thinking about you and adjusting their idea of where you fit into their life and their routine. They want you to stay in the pigeon hole they've created for you . This isn't out of concern for you....it's out of concern for their own comfort.
Other than family, people come and go in your life and if you build your life around everyone else's wants, they'll move on and you'll be left wondering who's life you are living. My advice is to decide what you want for yourself and set a plan in motion to achieve it. There's no reason to cut anyone out of your life over this, however what other people think about your new direction should only be of mild and passing interest to you. You can politely thank them for their advice but offer no comment, apologies ,explanations or excuses to them about your personal decisions. You will see that once you own your decision, they will adjust quickly and will move on. Thankfully you did this to get through University (congratulations) . Imagine where you'd be today if you let pleasing others, stand in your way.
what we need is clarification.
when caleb approached his mother and wants to know whether, in the resurrection, he will enjoy the heavenly hope or be a part of the "great crowd.
as he looks at her with his piercing black eyes, she reminds him that jehovah can't lie.
hey, remember that one time on family guy when the evil monkey in chris's closet became a jw?.
i remember thinking, pssht, they'd never do that.. hey, remember when they did it?.
i am dying to know if someone awake at bethel in the art department or whatever saw that episode and recommended this cover a few years ago.
why is it that when a jw gives someone a magazine, they use the word "place" instead of "give"?
as in "i placed a magazine with him".
and why do regular door-to-door jws of no special rank refer to themselves as publishers?
It's all about projecting a certain image and to use the word place or placement gives the idea that some thought and care was put into rather than it being a random haphazard occurrence such as "left" or "dropped off", "deposited" or handed out.
When you give away a litter of puppies, it sounds better if you say they were "placed " in new homes or "placed" with a new family, even if they were just gotten rid of to whomever would take them.
As far as the term "Publisher", again this is about projecting a more elevated image. A paperboy or paper carrier, delivers, drops off or distributes newspapers yet he is not considered to be a publisher. The Newspaper Publisher is a usually the owner of the Paper such as a large corporation. JW's used to use the magazines as an avenue to speak to people about their message and since they were part of a printing organization, the probably went with a newspaper term that projected a certain importance to what they were doing..
Now that they're silently standing by carts full of literature, I'm not sure what they'd call this. Possibly Cart Attendants?
as i was driving past a certain gas station today, i recalled that the family who own it are called on by a friend of mine, and in a territory where it's hard to find interest.
it reminded me of an incident months back when this friend, brother d, discovered that another friend, brother b, was calling on that family too.
hey, gotta make your time.. those two went at it.
I forgot to mention in my post above....
At one point, the Sisters in the Hall convinced my Mom that some of the stuff she'd picked up at garage sales might be demonized and that could be why she was having such a hard time. I was in high school at the time and I vividly remember the sisters burning clothes and other things in the fireplace.
I remember suspecting that my Mom's recovery had to do with them giving her an "out"....blame it on the demons rather than your own weakness or immaturity. As kids, we didn't care so long as she back on her feet again.
